CAPTRUST Financial Advisors, one of the nation’s leading independent retirement and wealth advisory firms, today announced that James J. Dunn has joined the firm’s Board of Advisors. Dunn is current vice president and chief investment officer of Wake Forest University in Winston Salem, North Carolina, responsible for managing the university’s endowment portfolio and other financial assets. He was previously a senior executive with Wilshire Associates, the Los Angeles, California-based investment advisory firm. At Wilshire, Dunn was responsible for managing the firm’s strategic asset allocation, investment policy, and investment manager selection, while also serving as the chief investment officer and portfolio manager for Wilshire Funds Management.
“I am delighted to have Jim join our Advisory Board,” said J. Fielding Miller, CAPTRUST co-founder and CEO. “I’ve known Jim for some time and I have great respect for his investment acumen and managerial leadership. CAPTRUST will benefit greatly from his experience and insights as we look to grow our firm by delivering solid results in an increasingly complex market environment.”
“I’m excited to play a role in helping CAPTRUST build on its success, especially as it relates to the retirement market,“ said Dunn. “There is tremendous opportunity in the retirement advisory industry and CAPTRUST is well positioned to meet the rapidly increasing demand for objective and effective retirement advice. I look forward to collaborating with the firm’s leadership team and distinguished advisory board members.”
